Getting Started

Follow the helpful hints as outlined below, in addition to the assembly instructions found in our how-to books, to recreate the featured scrapbook layouts. If you’ve attended the workshop hosted by your Close To My Heart Consultant, you’ll already have some of the products needed to recreate the featured layouts. You’ll notice we have used additional products, not included in the workshop, to show the endless possibilities that accessories can create. If you haven’t attended the workshop and would like to create the layouts, contact your Consultant to order the necessary supplies.

Print out the PDF and cut the papers in your paper packet as outlined, being sure to label each piece on the back.

Helpful Hints

To re-create the layouts as shown here, follow the helpful hints as outlined. For more detailed information on how to assemble the featured layouts, refer to our how-to books Cherish™ and Imagine™. Your Close To My Heart Consultant can offer more information on the featured scrapbooking techniques.

• Print the cutting guide PDF and use it in conjunction with Cherish™ and Imagine™.
• Trim the My Stickease™ border as follows: one 9” piece, two 6” pieces, and one 3” piece. Attach the pieces to the Cherish layout as follows: the 9” piece on the left page; the two 6” pieces and the 3” piece on the right page. (The My Stickease border is used in place of piece C from the pattern.)
• Use Bamboo or Twilight ink and the sponging technique to distress the edges of some papers and photos, as desired.
• Use a sewing machine and tan thread to add stitching around some of the papers on the Cherish layout before you attach embellishments and photos. Use dark blue thread to add stitching around some of the papers on the Imagine layout.
• Use the dry embossing/scoring stylus and the sanding kit to create stripes on the Twilight cardstock and a frame on some of the Outdoor Denim cardstock.
• Use the sponge and the paint to add texture to some of the papers on the Monologue layout. Allow the paint to dry.
• Add Sassy Strands™ as desired.
• Use 3-D foam squares to add dimension to some of the My Stickease artwork and various photos.
